About Black Feather
Black Feather Studio began as a traditional film photography developing studio. It was created by the need and feel of the element of surprise, authenticity, and tangible photography. Using traditional developing methods in a South Tampa studio, Black Feather Studio brought back the true nature and delight of real photography for novices and professionals alike.
Black Feather Studio quickly spun into Black Feather Magazine in the Spring of 2020. Originally conceived as a space for analog artists to find a home and community, it became quite clear that art and politics, especially in 2020, were one and the same.
Black Feather Magazine and Studio are intrinsically political entities. Founded by a political scientist and artist, it is no real surprise that they do not shy away from difficult discussions and encourage conversation.
Upcoming topics of Black Feather Magazine include: race, food culture, immigration, and self reflections.
Please check out our Call for Submissions page if interested in submitting to the magazine.

The best art is political and you ought to be able to make it unquestionably political and irrevocably beautiful at the same time.”
